Originally called ” jade pearl' 'by the Chinese, the British nicknamed it ' 'gunpowder tea” because of its appearance.

Gunpowder tea is mostly produced in the province of Zhejiang in China. It is made using ordinary tea leaves which are hand-rolled into small pellets.

This tea was harvested in the spring from a plantation which does not use any chemicals. The leaves are pan-fried and rolled.

The liquor is dark green, fresh and full-bodied, slightly astringent with herbal notes.
