From the pre-gu yu harvest, this Long Jing is grown in the Yun Qi region, which produces excellent teas. The plantations are located at the foot of Wuyun Hill, which bears this name because of its cloud-shrouded bamboo forest.

Pre-picked gu yu teas have a more strongly roasted flavor which gives a more pronounced taste to the tea.
